MATKA X MATERIA BOTÁNICA
Materia Botánica explores and collects plant waste to dye clothes.
At Matka, on the other hand, we create garments made of handwoven natural fibres.
Our shared mission is to produce pieces that are kind to the environment and to our skin.
Together we conceived these one-off pieces to manifest that culture has no borders.
These two shirts were crafted with fine silk noil that was hand woven, individually hand cut and sewn in Kathmandu, Nepal; and carefully hand dyed with fern leaves and oak galls foraged from the forest that surrounds Materia Botanica’s workshop in Galicia, Spain.
We hope you enjoy them as much as we enjoyed doing this collaboration.

“True luxury is silent and cannot always be appreciated at first sight; behind what is visible to the eye, there is time, dedication, craftsmanship, emotion and so much more.” - Knitbrary.
One of the greatest gifts Matka has brought me is meeting wonderful, like-minded, creative minds and makers, such as Yolanda and Pedro, the souls behind Knitbrary.
they work closely with skilled artisans in arequipa, peru, and together create BEYOND beautiful hand knitted pieces with the finest natural yarns.
In November 2020, they launched their new Online Store; introducing their new line ‘By Knitbrary’, and ‘Authors’, a space we are so proud to be a part of, ALONGSIDE MUCH LOVED LABEL Steve Mono.
You can now find a curated selection of our collection at WWW.KNITBRARY.COM .
